We are mourning the loss of Dietmar Wendt

Dear business partners,
with heavy hearts, we must inform you that on Saturday, 16 August 2025, our company founder Dietmar Wendt passed away at the age of 82. Since 2017, his health had been steadily deteriorating, starting with a small scratch on his leg.
The last few months were increasingly difficult for him. From hospital stay to hospital stay, the prospect of recovery became increasingly unlikely. He clung to life, fought back and refused to go yet. Weakened by constant pain and knowing that his family was with him during this difficult time, he passed away on Saturday morning. We are all very sad and equally glad for him that he is relieved of further suffering.

Wentronic was his life’s work. At the ripe old age of 49, Dietmar Wendt faced the decision of his life and put all his eggs in one basket: Wentronic Electronic Components Handels GmbH.

This courageous step, which took many days and nights over weeks to mature, grew into a company that he was proud of every day. The day never ended for him. As long as he was awake, every minute he thought about how the company would be successful. How the money had to be earned before it could be spent. Dietmar Wendt was always a role model for diligence and discipline at work, a great colleague and leader. During his years as an employee at Antronik in Hanover, at Setron in Braunschweig and, of course, for many of us at Wentronic who had the privilege of working with him. The pride he felt and expressed when he talked about Wentronic and what we want to achieve together was noticeable and inspiring to everyone.

He was a typical child of the post-war era. The future could only get better. That’s how he started his family, built his house and believed in a successful future for his company Wentronic.
His legacy is an example and an obligation for us.

We celebrate the life of Dietmar Wendt. Kind-hearted. Passionate. Courageous. Sometimes strict, but mostly very loving. A model of a level-headed entrepreneur and, for his family, employees and friends, a person who could always be relied upon. Always!

His motto was displayed on his door for many years:
‘When I am asked at the end of my life what I have achieved, I don’t want to stutter.’
(That day has come, and we hear no stammering.)

With love,
The Wendt family
and the Wentronic team
