30 years Wentronic: a Brunswick success story with a bright future

Brunswick, 01 September 2022

From a small basement with big plans to a state-of-the-art office complex of 3,000 square metres overlooking the port of Brunswick. This is the story of Wentronic and company founder Dietmar Wendt, which started in Brunswick 30 years ago. Within the last three decades, a handful of employees and a small product range have grown into an international holding with four lo-cations worldwide, over 8,000 products, more than 200 employees and annual sales of 57 million euros

Involved from the start and always on his side: his sons Michael and Marcus Wendt, who now run the company in the second generation. Also there from the begin-ning: an incredible amount of ambition and the found-er’s heart in the right place. Michael still remembers the early days:

“When we received deliveries, the boxes were stacked meters high up to the ceiling. Anyone who then want-ed to get into my office had to climb their way in.”

Today, he can smile about the shelves he built himself when he looks at the automated parcel warehouse, where shipping containers from the company’s most important trade route are unpacked and processed for customers. Even back then, team spirit and community played an important and, above all, central role.

Wentronic has always retained its personal touch de-spite its rapid growth. Wendt’s guiding principle, which is also reflected in the company culture: “Every business deal is a good deal when both part-ners are satisfied.”

This endeavor has been rewarded with various awards: most recently with 15th place in the 100aus38 employer ranking, the TOP training quality seal from the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and a among the 50 best company restaurants in Germany by Food & Health.

On the product side, Wentronic impressed across the board with its own brand Clicktronic. Wentronic brought the Red Dot Award in the Product Design category home, which was awarded by an international jury of experts. These ac-complishments would not have been possible without the team spirit and without the most important building block, the colleagues – the managing director also ap-preciates this. Michael Wendt adds:

“We are looking ahead and we are excited about the future. We grow with every challenge and are always learning from them. Together as a team, we can master anything, as the last two years have clearly shown. Al-ways one step ahead, always keeping up with the times and always setting the bar high. That’s Wentron-ic.”

Wentronic wants to expand business in Europe

The electronics distributor already participates relevant-ly in the market and has made a name for itself in the consumer electronics industry. Trust and credibility built up over the years on the customer and supplier side will help Wentronic to expand further and secure additional shares in the European market, according to the CEO.

The subsidiary company Wentronic Solutions GmbH has also successfully established itself on the market and has been offering individual electronics solutions for renowned international industrial & OEM customers for more than six years. Solutions CEO Marcus Wendt:

“We want to be the first and best choice for our cus-tomers in the OEM business. With our high-quality standards, we offer premium electronics for a wide range of applications – from the idea to series produc-tion.”

Even after 30 years, the success story does not end here. For the growing work areas and new tasks, the company is constantly looking for talents who can make the Wentronic team even better.
